I am working on putting together a package for applying to new jobs and thought I would put this up for review. My resume details my experience here in the Yukon and other places, so for this I wanted to essentially show a few projects that I’ve worked on during my time here in which I contributed in more ways than just construction documents or drafting. I wanted to convey a well rounded skill set so I only included the projects in which I did some rendering/modeling as well as drafting. (I will be including some detailing I did for the EBA project on the first page as soon as I can get the file from work)
When we were hiring a lot of the people’s work samples that I saw felt very much not put together and I was surprised by this. Maybe it was how they printed- I don’t know- but they did not look very thought out. With this in mind, I wanted to keep things short and concise while still getting the point across in a well designed manner. The format of the black lines and contact info is very similar to my resume, portfolio, and cover letter. It is meant to be printed 8.5 x 11 or viewed on a screen so I worry a little about the size of the drafted drawings and whether I should zoom in more on selected portions of them or stick with the overall impression of the page. I also wonder about the length and if I should include more, or if brevity lends more strength. This is still a work in progress but any comments and suggestions would be very helpful.

ps I added a follow-up picture to my previous post on cell phones, check it out
Steve,
Looks great, and its a fantastic idea to include those technical drawings.
The one suggestion I have is to have your name and or email stand out a bit more. The text running down the left side feels a bit crowded. Even more so when you have all the line work of the technical drawings. Hitting it with a deep red or blue will help your name pop off the page. In the end, that is the most important thing on the page. That it is YOUR work, and thats what they should take away from the portfolio, your name.
